Nightlife - Although it lacks the Sydney’s
Darling Harbour glam, Melbourne at dusk still has
the variety and energy to appeal to all. From drinking
at pubs and bars, clubbing away at dance venues, or
shaking to the rhythm of live music, Melbourne has
what it takes to offer to keep the nightlife adventurers
There is the Southgate and Southbank Promenade
which offer wide variety of dining experience. Restaurants,
cafes and bars are all over the promenades. Follow
a good meal by the Crown Entertainment Complex which
is next to Southbank Promenade. Besides patronizing
the casino and shopping center, you can enjoy the
wonderful river bank for a good and relaxing evening
stroll. With Melbourne relaxed licensing laws and
the range of watering holes, you’ll be entertained
from dusk till dawn.
Something to take note so as not to spoil the evening
is its strict dress code for clubs. This is enforced
in most parts of Australia particularly
at weekends. The basic rule for guys is – a
collared shirt and no jeans. For the gals is –
no open-toed shoes. This is the minimum though it
may vary at different clubs.
The minimum age for drinking in Australia is 18 years
